Simple Apologies

Worst mistakes are the ones realised so late,

Failing to understand the problem and it’s state;

Looking outward and turning things to complicate,

Acting foolish and stupendous, resorting to agitate.

Reminiscing onto self, being broken to disintegrate,

Piece by piece, reliving the horror, as pain alleviate;

Hard to let go, especially when your thoughts won’t articulate,

Identity comes under the spotlight, character needs to ventilate.

Every aspect of our behaviour becomes something to contemplate,

Past and present submerge oneself into a simple gauntlet;

Haunted by the fear of losing everything is hard to coordinate,

Perhaps growing up we should have learnt to appreciate.

Surrounded by complex thoughts, losing our sight to dictate,

Blemishes of the character, sometimes are hard to eradicate;

Yet we resolve to hope, because we can be optimistically passionate,

Self-reconciliation, step by step, is the heart’s true mandate.
